- Print one test page on plain paper first and hold it against a label sheet to the light to check alignment.
- Set your printer to the highest quality setting and the paper type to "labels" or "glossy" for waterproof vinyl and clear gloss.
- Waterproof vinyl and clear gloss are inkjet only. Kraft, recycled and pastel papers work in inkjet and laser printers.
- Let inkjet prints dry for 10-15 minutes before peeling.
- For bottles that will sit in ice or a cooler, a light coat of UV-resistant clear spray over the printed vinyl helps the ink last.

What size label fits a standard water bottle?
An 8 x 2 in. label wraps a standard 16.9 oz (500 ml) water bottle, which is about 8.3 in. around at the label band, leaving a small gap at the back. The 2 in. height fits the flat section of most brands.
Which water bottle label material survives an ice bucket?
Waterproof white vinyl and clear gloss. Both are polyester films that hold through ice, condensation and coolers without smearing or peeling, and both print on inkjet printers only. The 100% recycled white, brown kraft, pastel pink and baby blue paper labels are for bottles that stay dry on a table.
How do I remove the original label from a water bottle?
Most brands' labels peel off by hand from a chilled bottle; a hair dryer for a few seconds loosens stubborn adhesive. Wipe the bottle dry before applying the new label, line it up with the bottom of the flat section, and roll the bottle into the label.
